EDT 1303 Instructional Technology ( Evaluation Textbook )





I have had evaluated "Pendidikan Moral", Form One textbook based on three criteria; organization, content, and physical aspect.


ORGANIZATION


First, this textbook provide a useful table of contents, glossary, and index. The glossary are provided at several page that provided the difficult or new word to the students. For examples at page 5 and 7 the word cerebral palsy and integriti were placed in the glossary box. The table of index can be seen on the last page of the textbook. The table of contents also show a logical arrangement of subject. The textbook uniformly in appearance and content layout throughout the book as well as within each chapter. Besides, this textbook contain references, and bibliographies. This help contains are helpful and sufficient. Moreover,introductions and summarizing of each chapters are clear and comprehensive. The objective of each chapter also provided to help the student to understand the topics. All pages are will numbered.



CONTENT


Secondly, the content meet local and national standards. This is because the textbook are content with patriotism and morality. Due to the patriotism and morality the content are accurate and up-to-date. Unfortunately, the contents are not supported by other textbook that student have or will use. The usage of language of this textbook is appropriate for the intended age group, clear, and grammatically correct. Besides, the textbook contain age appropriate reading level. Futhermore, after each lesson there are question and tasks for the student to be done; therefore Fikir dan Jawab, Refleksi, and Tahukah Anda?. Due to morality, honesty and patriotism the lesson also link to other subject such as History, and Islamic Education. All of the activities engaging the students in active learning. The activities appealing to a wide range of abilities and interests. The students will be given a task that they have to find information from the internet, form a group work, and presentation. Those interesting activities, make the lesson encourage higher-level thinking among the students. Therefore, this textbook will be used for a several years.


PHYSICAL ASPECT


Finally, the size and weight of the textbook appropriate for the students to bring it to the school. The

font and the style also suitable for the Form One students. Besides, the textbook also suitable for the students attention by include various pictures, poem and songs. The arrangement of the layout also uncluttered and balanced, so the students will not get confuse. Furthermore, the illustrations, tables, figure, charts, etc. were provide appropriate representation of age, ethnicity, sex, socioeconomic level, and physical and mental ability. Therefore, the illustrations, table, figures, etc. relevant and function well.
